We live close to this lovely property with it's Georgian inspired rooms and well kept gardens. We often visit the farm and adventure playground with the grandchildren but at the weekend we enjoyed visiting the house with friends who were visiting. It has a fascinating history as it had appeared in the Domesday book in 1086 as a moated manor house. The 'new' house was built in 1650. In 1938 it was bought by George Bambridge and his wife Elsie, daughter of Rudyard Kipling. When Elsie died it was left to the care of the National Trust.
