It's been hard work on the allotment this year with the dry weather. Not only the extra watering but all the visits from pigeons, rabbits, pheasants, rats and mice who have been helping themselves to either the crops or the young plants. However, we finally have some success as the beans have starting producing after the third planting, and the sweetcorn is just so sweet this year! Must be all that sunshine! We also have the last of the plums, some mulberries, some mis-shapen courgettes and some late onions. We don't know what to do with the mulberries so we're trying mulberry gin.
I can imagine the garden work keeping stuff alive this year Judith. We have had loads of gorgeous Victoria plums, Harry picked the last ones today, a really good crop. A lovely haul of self grown produce! More to come too!
That's impressive. And just having your own crop is so special. Victoria Plums here not quite ready.....at least I haven't had any from my friend yet.....😁
