Newport Arch, Lincoln by busylady

Newport Arch, Lincoln

We had our annual 'boys' school reunion in Lincoln this year. The boys are the four husbands who all went to school together back in the 60's. This arch is the remains of a 3rd century Roman gate which is still used today. It is reputedly the oldest of its kind in the UK.
How wonderful to spend time making new memories with old friends! Love the history and architecture.... the stone really gives great texture to a photo! We don't have anything nearly that old here in the US!

This is lovely. So good that the ‘boys’ still meet up once a year.

A lovely old home on the right, too - with all its chimneys. The stone is rather beautiful with its creamy colour!
