Tattershall Castle

The sun came out briefly while I was on the roof of this splendid castle built in 1231. Owned by the National Trust, only the large red brick tower and the moat remain. The castle was bought by an American in 1910 who immediately ripped out the huge medieval fireplaces. Fortuately, Lord Curzon stepped in at the last minute and bought back the treasured fireplaces.
Love the simple architecture on this wonderful building in its red brick ! So good that Lord Curzon stepped in and appreciated the history of the castle !!!

It is an amazing spot. It is hard to imagine being able to walk were people walked so many centuries ago. Nice capture. Fav

I like how the wall is reflected in the floor. I've never been to this one but been passed it a few times in the way to RAF Coningsby.

@rjb71 I liked the reflections too. In fact looking at it again, it could almost be mistaken for a pool!
