The shoebox event at church this year was not the mammoth effort it has been in the past. This year we were not a distribution centre so we just had to collect our own shoeboxes and deliver them to a warehouse in a village about 20 miles away. I always enjoy packing them and I do one on behalf of each of the grandchildren, for someone of a similar age in a far off country, who otherwise would not get anything for Christmas. I'm still not happy with the focus here but as it's a diary entry there's no need to comment.
