We had a walk around the pretty village of Houghton in Huntingdonshire today. The village has suffered with flooding in the past but with flood defences now in place floods are not so frequent. However, one of the footpaths was completely underwater today. The walk passes the National Trust 17th century watermill, which I've posted before, so today it's the Three Horseshoes Inn in the center of the village. Not many people about so a safe place to walk.
3 good things
1) a walk in the countryside
2) roast lamb for dinner, first time since February
3) an evening by the woodstove
A very traditional looking pub. I have an old book that reviews village pubs of the UK. I wonder how may still exist...and how many I could visit after restrictions fully ease!
