The clapper bridge

Crossing Dartmoor on the way home, we stopped at Postbridge to see the famous bridge. It dates from the 13th century and was used for carrying tin to Tavistock
Well isn’t that a lovely bridge....they must have carried the tin as this won’t take a cart even. Lovely curve on the top bit!

@happypat it's actually wider than you think. Probably 5 feet across, wide enough for donkeys or packhorses.

Such a lovely scenic view and what a great bridge , is it still in use ?I do not think I would manage it these days without a hand rail !

@beryl It's a popular spot, so well used by tourists. Not many donkeys these days though!
