The Menai Suspension Bridge

This iconic bridge spans the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. Designed by Thomas Telford it was begun in 1819 and completed in 1826. It spans a distance of 176 metres and still carries traffic today.

I'm trying to imagine it with carriages and horses and men in top hats. In the 1820's it must have been the highest of high tech.
