Steeleye Span

We went to a concert to see this fabulous band last night. They started performing in 1969 with Maddie Prior who is still going strong. What a great night. Their new young fiddler, Ruth Elder gave an incredibly polished and lively performance. It was good to be able to go to a live concert again, although as the theatre was pretty full I kept my mask on all evening. As we weren't able to take photos of the performance I've had to make do with a photo of the CD covers. Yes we still listen to CD's - no Alexa yet!

Lovely must have been great, that takes me back such a long time, we saw them at Middlesbrough Town Hall in the 90s, they had been on the go 25 years then!! Maddie Prior was brilliant. Nice to know they are still going strong. I have in front of me a stack of albums and one of them is steel eyed spans original LP which we still play, even though we have Spotify!

Not a band that I am familiar with. But I am listening to Hark the Village Wait on YouTube Music as I write this. That’s the great thing about streaming services, you can summon up any music you desire.
