The other side of the park

The park straddles the main road into the town, with the river going under the bridge. The river often floods here, with the wide, flat meadows providing somewhere for the rain to go. It's rare for the houses and the town itself to flood, although it has happened before. This was taken from the bridge.

An impressive shot of the floods. This park should be twinned with Rowntree Park in York which is also under water.
