After the rain by busylady

After the rain

After 2 days of rain, I decided that this photo was more appropriate than one from my workshop yesterday. This is Duloe Brook, which floods regularly, but doesn't usually affect the houses. The Brook is very fast flowing, and has overflowed its banks, but I doubt if it will rise any higher.
There are terrible floods everywhere at the moment

Oh dear, I would be watching that through the window, water is nit somewhere you want to live anywhere near these days sadly.

I would not be happy seeing that rising - - not a happy scene with all this rain !

Good capture

Not a good thing to see outside your front door! Hopefully that’s as high as it gets

Oh my that's a lot of water

I am not so sure I would fancy this outside my house. Even though you say the houses are safe I wouldn't trust the water. In Queensland they have had two 'once in a hundred year' floods in the last 12 months.

Our water level is also very high. People living close to the river stick sticks at the edge of the water and watch how quickly the water level rises.

I would think the residents would be keeping a careful eye on that beck. Hopefully the level will soon start to fall.

Yikes indeed

Great shot and thanks for taking the trouble of taking it. I wouldn't feel relaxed if I lived in one of those houses and seeing the water rising and don't know when it will stop.

Still looks scarily high for a brook

Wow looking high and not so far away is a little worrying.
