So What's Normal - 23 March 2020

Chickens in their coop. Dogs in their penned yard. Humans in lockdown inside their houses.

“You are only a prisoner when you surrender.”
― Tad Williams, Shadowplay

Number Six: The rest of you have gone over to the side of our keepers[ in context of The Village]. Which is which? How many of each? Who's standing beside you now? I intend to discover who are the prisoners and who are the warders. I shall be running for office in this election. -- Patrick McGoohan - The Prisoner - "Free for All"
Normal, nothing but a setting on the dryer... Feel for the forlorn looking pup.

I'm trying to look on it more as sanctuary rather than imprisonment - not always working though

@fbailey Wife and I have been doing what is said to be done. Trip to the hospital for elective surgery, normal doc appt's and trips to the post office (PO BOX)and store for normal groceries, and wife still came down with a one day 103F fever and I felt like crud for 24 hrs without the fever. So have we gotten that virus? if so, have we developed antibodies? Are we still contagious? And no one is going to pass it on to us if we have already been exposed.

Sorry, just frustrated with the media hype and lack of real information. Just trying to keep a PMA ("Positive Mental Attitude").

@fbailey But it also recalls assignments in junior high (7-8 grades in USA at the time) when you were give a photo and told to write the story behind it.

@byrdlip Hope you're both recovered now - very vague information about the symptoms. Thermometers are nowhere to be found over here, don't know if I have a temperature or just left the heating on for too long. The cold in waiting I've had for the last two weeks is waiting no longer and is threatening to turn into the real thing any day now. Is it the start of the virus? There have been cases in Kent but I don't want to be added to the stats ... Lockdown is only Day 2 today but it feels as if this week has been Groundhog Day, a fortnight's worth of Sundays. I like Sundays, just not every day of the week. I'd like to adopt your PMA but think I shall go SC (Stir Crazy) before too long.

@byrdlip Your schooling sounds much more interesting than mine was!

@fbailey Forgive me, but I bristle at the use of the word "lockdown". While working (at a state agency), we had several Active Shooter training sessions where, indeed, one was put into lockdown. And working in what would seem as a daylight basement, ground level at waist height, sloping up to first floor (USA) level about 100 ft away, makes one fussy about the term. Similar to having planes landing at the nearby airport a month after 9/11.
PTSD?
