This engine, along with its sister engines, have the duty to position the rail cars where they are need within the mill. http://365project.org/byrdlip/365/2010-05-13, shows the i-beam cars center right rear (yellow and brown/red cars) that are empties, I think 1202 was positioning the log cars for the boom in the shot.
