Well, I see another trip to the hardware store in my future. This is the water filter for the kitchen, or lack there of. Got the other two problems solved, but no water thru the filtered tap, nothing leaking, so save it for another day. Rule number one (of many), never look or try to fix something after sunset, a flashlight needs another hand to hold it and you will always be two or three short.
For those keeping score, the water line is under pressure and be bottom connection has a stopper valve in it, so we are dry.
Repurposing the lens flare filter in PSE to highlight the broken part. And here, I thought we had a mild winter with no major freezes.
