The Nisqually River bridges were last painted 25 years ago in 1988. Since then, the protective coating on the bridges has deteriorated, exposing the steel to the weather and elements, which has resulted in rust and corrosion.
This project helps prevent future corrosion and preserves the bridges' structural integrity.
All work to remove the existing paint and apply new paint will be done under full containment to protect the environment.

Nice structure, although they take a lot of protection. A bit like the Forth Rail Bridge in Scotland that is painted from one end to the other over a couple of years, then they start all over again. Good capture.
