The Copalis Beach was open for claming this morning, low tide at 7:06 AM. (April 7, Thursday, 7:07 a.m.; -0.6 feet; Long Beach, Copalis, Mocrocks) The crowds where thin, even with spring break (or what ever it is PC to call it), there were few people on the beach at oh-dark thirty. I was there with my camera and orange vest ( what looks I got - are you a warden? No, I've retired from state employment), if I was going to get hit, I wanted to give the drivers a target to aim for.
I met tow gentlemen returning to their cars with their limit (15 each) and they were kind enough to share, and pose, a couple clams for me. Good eats!! The one on the lower right decided that it was going to try to dig back in, the divot is where its digger was working, out of the shot where two blow holes of its friends that got away.
