This baby Gray Catbird strayed from the nest too soon. Unable to fly and on the ground, our Maggie found her in the ivy. I don't think the little bird was hurt. We will walk our dogs in the backyard for the next few days and try to give it a chance to survive. Hopefully the neighbors dogs and cat won't find it.
Question: Should I have focused on its beak instead of its eye?
@fueast Oh, I think I would like your Mum! Haven't seen our little baby since I came home, but the mama and daddy are still hovering close by so hopefully it is hiding somewhere... a veterinarian once told me that they would feed their babies on the ground if they located them... but they are certainly at risk of predators!
@drussell I had on white capris and the ground was soggy, so I rolled them up past my knees and knelt down on my knees and elbows... it was really cute... hope the neighbors got a laugh! Thanks for the fav!
