We spent the week on the South Carolina coast. We drove north of the storm and arrived late on Sunday. Most businesses were closed due to flooding in the area. We were able to make it to our condo without encountering any flooded streets. But sadly, many lives were devastated by the storm, and at least 20 lost their lives in South Carolina.
@lesip No... we have enjoyed a week at the beach in the fall with four of our best friends for several years. But we discovered that water had penetrated the exterior wall (ledge there) and had seeped under the flooring in our master bedroom and it blew the electric in that one room... so we left with part of the floor pulled out, no power in the bedroom other than what we could get with extension cords. Our contractor helped determine what needs to be done. Our neighbor, Barbara, loaned us her dehumidifier which helped. We are waiting on insurance to proceed with repairs. Of course, the source of the water will have to be taken care of first. But we still had a good time!
