Another photo from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The countdown has begun to our grandson's arrival. His mom was admitted to the hospital today and he should arrive by Sunday! A couple of weeks early but his ultrasounds indicate he is full term! We are getting to 'baby' sit our granddog, Winnie. A black lab who is strong as an ox!
@milaniet We live about an hour and a half away from the parkway. We just made a day trip of it... drove about 65-70 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway, from Asheville to Boone. Really amazing the difference in leaf color at different elevations. I think about 5100 feet above sea level was the highest section we traveled. Already past peak. I really do hope you get the opportunity to visit. Lots of people at every overlook and on many of the hiking trails. Many were wearing masks. But we kept out distance, too. We also packed snacks and didn't stop to eat anywhere.
@calm How wonderful to be that close - and you did things so sensibly. We had planned to be there about the 6th-10th of October so might have hit it well. Glad you got to enjoy it.
