Today would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. They were high school sweethearts. My Mom became a resident of heaven in 1995 at the age of 62 (my age) and my Dad joined her in 2000. They left a legacy of love, humility, selflessness and generosity to others. I miss them. A photo of a photo.
@tunia Thank you. My mother grew up very poor. Her wedding dress was borrowed. The wedding was in her Aunts backyard. My uncle built and painted trellis for the backdrop of the wedding. They lived with my Daddy’s sister and her husband for 2 years while my Daddy finished college after serving in the Army. My mother put herself through college working, doing scholarship beauty pageants and some scholarships for academics and athletics. She was one of 8 children, the only one who went to collage but everyone one of them successful in their jobs due to a strong character and good work ethic. My parents had a very happy marriage and my sister and I both blessed to be their girls!
