Tax Dollars at Work by calm

Tax Dollars at Work

Grant money was used to relocate log structures to a single piece of property to ‘preserve’ the structures and provide a place for events. No accountability for the long term success of these pet projects. The main house will probably fall any day. The property is no longer safe enough to even host an event. It angers me to see tax payer dollars wasted. Just a tiny example of a much larger problem.
Such a terrible loss. I don’t get it, either. Our nearby town recently moved the home of a pioneer, but they are doing a good job with it.

@danette I hope the project close to you will have community support and will be maintained for future generations. I do think there is value in preserving history, and I’m sad that the project near me is beyond repair. My husband’s aunt and uncle donated the blacksmith building and it is still standing but filled with concrete blocks and metal barrels.

Amazing that it is still upright, almost.
