Just pondering the fragility of life. Do you know when your time is coming, or does your brain take you away to protect you. Even when you know someone has had a "good innings" why is it still so hard to see them declining so rapidly? A difficult day.
Calx, you found a wonderful picture to match your sentiment. I'm sorry you are having a difficult day and struggling with the impending loss of someone obviously that you care about very much. There aren't good answers as to why, but try and hold onto the good things they've been in your life and meant to you. And yes, I think they are protected from pain and suffering, much more so than loved ones left behind, I suspect.
