Before and after

Decided to scarify the lawn today. I have been assured that this is good for the grass. Basically you rip out all the dead grass and moss, leaving the grass space to breath and regrow. I have gone from a nice green to a brown mess. I will have to do another shot in a few weeks to compare.

We have done this and it does help. It looks sad for a short while but the end result is worth it!

Quite a difference. We only do this scalping of the lawn in the early spring.

It's called scary -fy for a reason! It always leaves me wondering if I've done the right thing, but the grass always grows again.
