A Google search has informed me that the collective noun for shoveler ducks is a "crew" or a "graveyard". You learn something new every day they say. So this is one of a crew that have recently arrived at the local lake. So far I've spotted six, three males and three females. It's nice to see something different at the lake, even though the species is not uncommon in the UK.
