This was in the exhibition within the Roman Baths complex. A sarcophagus was found & it contained this skeleton. With three aid of technology a reconstruction of this mans face was made. He was found to have come from the Syria area, which of course begs the question, “ why was he so far from home?”
It really is amazing what they are able to piece together now with 3D imaging. Knowing a little bit about the Roman Empire, I'm sure he was some sort of slave or servant. They really shuffled people around to keep nationalism at bay and loyalty to Rome high. Scattering people groups also prevented insurrection and provided a lot of labor for the massive building projects they tended to undertake. I would be lost for hours in this museum I think- I love to learn! Great shot!
