Otherwise known as Bess of Hardwick. A poster on the wall in the Hall. She outlived four husbands & become richer with each marriage, even bagging herself the title, Countess of Shrewsbury & became the second wealthiest female in the land, with only Queen Elizabeth I being richer! She also lived to be in her eighties, most unusual for women of that time!
Made me think of Zsa Zsa Gabor who apparently once said 'I am an excellent housekeeper, every time I get divorced I keep the house'
