Lancaster Fly Past by carole_sandford

Lancaster Fly Past

Not the best picture as quite far away & the light wasn't brilliant as it had rained minutes before it came into view. Photographed at the former RAF Faldingworth tonight.
Wonderful.

Good shot- hard to imagine the sky filled with them during the war. A friend's mother used to keep count of them.

Glad you captured this Carole….good to get to see a bit if the fly past. Thank you. My dad was a navigator in a Lancaster Bomber during the war so very close to my heart!
We had two Hurcules over our area last night…they were in training & apparently RAF is taking advantage of the clear skies.
I didn’t see them but they gave a few people a shock as they were so low.

@happypat living where it was happening & it being a historic thing, I really wanted to catch it. If I had gone down to the Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln, I could have got much better shots, but I thought it would be heaving & as Phil wasn’t around, I didn’t want to go on my own. We get the chance to see this plane often though. Glad you liked it.
