A rainy day today, so thought I would play with the light box & some mirrors. Not sure that I'm entirley happy with this & not entirely sure what I was hoping to achieve. But .....as I have to go to work & have run out of time, this is my best offering - hope it's not too shabby?
Perhaps if the compact had been more perpendicular totally in shot and both had same colour background in their reflection?? I particularly like the black reflected flower on the left, and the sharp and soft focus are lovely. Got to give these arty farty shots a go and if you like it that's the important thing.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond yes, needed black on the sides too, but I didn't have any! Was also struggling for a mirror, didn't have any without a frame & were either too big or too small! Did a bit of a you too - took about 50 shots!!
@carole_sandford only 50??!!! Bet you either used one of the first few or last two?! I use black artist board card from Hobby craft- really cheap but sturdy to frame shots. I like the water drops on the petals too btw
Considering how few of your photographs are 'contrived' like this is (still life, arranging, building (your pics are mainly natural, wildlife etc)) and you've used compact mirrors as props, I think this is really very good Carole, especially as I know It's not within your comfort zone
I think this is a good experiment- it's always fun to play around and se what you can come up with. For me personally when I'm working with things that are this small, I like to come in with a very tight crop. But that's really a personal choice because the way you've cropped it here is fine. I would have just come back a little bit so that the full flower was included in the frame.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments, suggestions, critiques etc, also for taking this to the popular page.
