The Cathedral stands on a hill & can be seen for miles around. Below it is the centre of Lincoln, but behind it there is “ up hill Lincoln” as the locals call it, (the posh bit).
There have been a few pictures on a local site recently of the cathedral & I had been trying to work out where they were taken from. This was one of them. It’s taken from the village of Canwick, which is about half way up the opposite side of the ridge. It was a hazy day, but I reckon a sunset sky might be nice at some point.
Beautiful shot of a spectacular building. Whenever I see pictures of these beautiful cathedrals I remember this trilogy of novels I read about generations that built a cathedral. Fascinating.
A lovely view of an amazing building. Reminds me of Ken Follett's book, " The Pillars of the Earth"......so good I have read it again during "lockdown".
@boatman137 yes & whoever designed it wouldn’t have seen it come to fruition. I wondered if @shutterbug49 was meaning Ken Follett’s, Pillars of the Earth, trilogy.
