A macro of one of my shells from yesterday. I believe the shape is a Fibonacci spiral. I googled it & it told me about a sequence of numbers - mathematics is not my forte & “ the shutters tend to come down” & my interest wains very quickly. However I appreciate the look of this swirl & I know what I like.
What a find! Your shallow DoF emphasizes the shape so well. I just tried enlarging it on my screen and cropping to see if you could make this image emphasize that Fibonacci spiral even more by placing the center on the point of that spiral and it's kind of cool. (I removed the left, and a little less off the top and bottom and right.) But of course, your current composition shows off the entire shape of the shell and that's lost if you crop it.
@k9photo unfortunately most of my maths teachers were ogres, unapproachable & the last people on earth I was going to tell that I didn’t understand something! I can do the basics, but I’m afraid that X belongs firmly in the alphabet! 😂
Nice shot! I don't know about the mathematics of it (I'm terrible with numbers!) but I always think of the center of a sunflower or Coneflower when I hear Fibonaci sequence. I think the shell works too. Very pretty!
