Lucy has been wanting to learn how to knit for some time. She asked tonight if she could “ have a go”. So she managed to do a few rows, gaining & losing stitches along the way! I think it might be a long process, but I think she’ll get there eventually!

I remember going through this stage both when I was learning and when I was teaching my daughters. She'll be whipping up a jumper in no time.

She will get the hang of it very quickly. I remember knitting a scarf for my favourite teacher when I was in primary school when I was 5 years old. It sounds ambitious but the scarf was all of 2 inches wide and only just went round the teacher's neck with the help of a safety pin. There were dropped stitches etc but she wore the scarf all day at school. Must have given the other teachers a bit of a smile but I was so pleased, ha ha.
