Nesting by carolmw

Nesting

I could just make out this Canada Goose on her nest. She was on an island opposite to me,and quite hidden by the trees and undergrowth.I was really pleased that my new camera, with a better telephoto lens, picked her out well.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and Favs, always much appreciated.
Jo

This is wonderful to see. Where do all the feathers come from?

Great find and capture. I've never seen a goose anywhere near a nest.

@riverlandphotos I think they pull the feathers from their own supply.

@riverlandphotos Yes they pluck the feathers from their own breast to line the nest - such dedication!

@anazad511 .It's a bridge camera with a 42x optical zoom.I upgraded it from a similar camera for the better zoom.

What a great capture, Carol. I have not seen the Canadian Geese nest but the other geese at our park nest the same. It is so cool to see. Congrats on the new camera. It is nice to use them like a telescope as you cannot see what the camera can see with your eyes. I am always amazed at my photos. I got close to a goose that was nesting, fed her and took several photos but did not post any. Will have to later. Never did see her babies either. Only once a week visits so it is hard to see what all happens.
