Winter's Gold

I don't know what this cereal type growth is called,but my husband,John,tells me it's crushed and used in power stations to generate electricity.Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

It's miscanthus grass used in biogas and biomas boilers according to my other half who works in that area of industry. Lovely colour at this time of year.
