A Surprise Visitor In The Garden

A great surprise to see a Fieldfare sitting in the apple tree yesterday afternoon.My first sighting of one of these birds,Had to check my RSPB book to see what it was.Normally found around hedgerows looking for berries etc.,they come into gardens in severe weather in search of food.

Well seen and caught. There's been a couple in our garden over the past day or two, feeding voraciously on the apples Lester chopped up and put out for the blackbirds, who usually feast on them but didn't appear!
