We'll be glad to see the end of 2019.
Rosie was waiting to board her flight from Athens to Heathrow yesterday, when her mother-in-law phoned to tell her that George's father had just passed away. He'd been poorly for a long time,as well as having dementia, which meant he didn't understand that George had passed away.....a blessing,he would have been heartbroken.
He had been a Cretan partisan in WW2,and also a veteran of the Korean War.
Such a terribly sad and difficult time for you all, my deepest condolences to both your families.
This is a lovely portrait that Rosie made; I am sure it has been and will continue to be treasured and now hopefully will trigger some happy memories and so bring some comfort.
Oh so sad Carol...they must be reeling! My deepest sympathies. A face full of character. My daughter in law lost her father this morning too, she feels a long way from home & her family at this time.
