I have so many starlings in my garden.Having bought mealworms for the robin,I filled 2 feeders.By the end of the day,the starlings had emptied them both. They've also demolished 2 suet block in two days.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs, always much appreciated.
Such a beautiful looking bird with its speckle plumage and iridescent glow, but not very social with other garden birds as they gulp down any food in sight , even squabble amongst themself for that last scrap of food, and can be quite amusing to watch!! Fortunately ,I do not see them often in my garden! Super shot Carol - fav
The 'teenagers' of the garden; I've got one of those feeders, and in a vain attempt at stopping the Starlings, I snipped off the curved standing - made not a jot of difference
A lovely shot - fav! They are attractive birds, but they can become a nuisance. Some years ago they used to roost under a city centre road bridge in York, flying out from under one side, up and over the top and back under the other side. There were so many they formed a tunnel of birds. They had to be encouraged to relocate.
