The Bridge of Sighs,Cambridge by carolmw

The Bridge of Sighs,Cambridge

The bridge dates from 1831 and was designed by Henry Hutchinson. It is based on the bridge in Venice, although the only similarity is that they are both covered bridges. It joins the old courts of St.John's College to the new Court across the River Cam.
What gorgeous design! Beautiful!!!

They just don't design things like they used to! This is lovely and reminds me that I must go to Cambridge again soon as soon as the weather picks up anyway!
