An evening walk in the center of Verona, while it begins to fall a still warm drizzle. These are the so called Portoni Borsari, where in the past the people entering the city had to shell out (take out of the purse) some money as a tax. Now it is the entrance to an elegant shopping street, ending in one of the two main squares, Piazza Erbe
@paul10 Thank you Paul, I'm glad to see that you are now a little less busy! The door is beautiful and the low POV is due to the fact that I had with me the small gorilla, meaning the tripod, which is not taller than half a meter I guess. But then the ancient stone is shiny and I try it to include it as much as possible
Such a lovely atmospheric photograph. And your descriptions are far better and more interesting than most travel writers. They make me wish I could visit places I'll never see. But then again, we all have your photos.
@mbrutus Thank you. But you should change your sentence "places I HAD never seen" It's not that far away, and if you come we could go taking pictures together. No birds, however, just a few anonymous seagulls!
@caterina That sounds a lovely thought. You can change my syntax (Or is that grammar?) anytime. I would like that very much. And I'll tell you a secret. While I love flowers, I don't particularly even like birds. (Though the more I photograph them, the more interesting I find them.). I mostly started photographing them When i ran out of flowers. The summers here are very hard in them. And Southern California, save perhaps the beaches, just is not that pretty. Especially in summer when everything is brown. So when I can't find any interesting flowers, I look for birds. They can be quite challenging. But to tell you the truth, again, even most of the birds around here are dull and boring. But I will be visiting Seattle soon and will be taking some city and street shots, at last.
@mbrutus I'll be looking forward! I have spent several months in Seattle long ago and I loved it. Except for the incessant rain! Guess it has changed a lot in the meantime. Not the rain, though
I was there once before sunshine and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, everyday. And no rain in the forecast for the next week, either. So I must be leading a charmed life.
