The name means Hut in the clouds. For good reason!
I just heard that an hour after I took this picture a ski instructor fell off the narrow path conducting to the hut and died after a jump of 100 meters
Oh how terrible. As soon as I saw that image my stomach did a sort of turn as if I was standing up there fearing falling off. The image really shows the magnificence and the danger.
@helenhall@jgpittenger@momamo@golftragic thank you for your comments. Accidents on that path are unusual and it’s especially sad and surprising that it happened to such an expert skier. But as you can see in the portrait of Ivan, it was a particularly cold and windy day
