I always wanted to learn how to make tose figurines that characterise Joey’s work @joeym and then all of a sudden four or five of them appeared in my LCD. I’m pleased, but I have no idea of how that happened. Can you explain it to me? ;-)
Set your camera to manual exposure and focus, find a very bright background, overexpose at least a couple of stops (preferably shooting wide open to medium aperture (don’t go smaller than 5,6), de-focus (set the focal point closer to you than to your subject), wait for a passer-by oblivious to all the prep... et voila ;)
Technically, Domenic gets A+— if you’re using iPhone gets the Slowshutter App ( free) and you’ll get the effect but takes lot of patience and practice.. Lensbaby helps also.🥰
This is quite fascinating; I was not sure at first whether or not I liked it but, yes, I do. The ethereal quality of the image somehow intrigues me and leaves me wondering just what is beyond what we can see. It is a liminal, on the edge picture that I have found myself returning to again and again. I do not favourite many but this I have and I know it will be one of those images that haunt me! Thanks for sharing this with us.
@domenicododaro So glad to know this technique! Thanks!
P.S. I'm hosting the artist's challenge, there's two days left, the artist is Paul Klee I'd love to see your take on his work
