I like this shot very much. For the composition, the subject, the repeating curves of the arch and the umbrella. Looking at the next day's photo and this photo, it seems that you are getting into interesting framing of your subjects.
@mbrutus thank you. Framing is indeed a nice way to compose pictures, especially for us living in walled cities, with no interesting birds around us. I had noticed the small hole in the lateral door of the museum, corresponding almost exactly to the statue, more than two years ago, but then Covid came and closed all the doors of all the museums. Therefore yesterday, to celebrate the reopening, I went there and put my electronic eye near the opening. All the rest is the large wooden door.
@caterina Thanks for your note. I had never considered the possibility that there might be disadvantages photographically, to living in walled cities. I am always more concerned with the limitations of daily taking interesting photos when living in a boring suburb, built entirely since the 1970's where the skies are almost never partly cloudy to augment landscape shots, rarely overcast in spring or summer to help eliminate harsh contrast for floral photographs, nearly all the birds are boring shades of white, black, dusty brown or gray. And the nearest city street scene or photogenic cultural institutions or botanical gardens are an nearly an hour away, when there's no traffic. So it was interesting to hear of your laments in that regard. I had always thought of the walls as adding interest and never thought of them as constricting you from getting certain larger views. And I'm sure you have many interesting birds around you. One need only look or listen for them. It seems to me that I have heard of two fairly prominent Verona lovers who used to be fairly famous for the ddebating bird calls of Verona's avian population, particularly the nightingales and larks, if I recall correctly. Anyway, I am glad to hear that your museums have opened. Ours have, as well. We spent a pleasant father's day with two of my girls and one boyfriend in tow. A photo of which I posted a few days back.
