Mose should protect Venice from high tides. The red construction deposits in the deep of the lagoon the yellow boxes that will float in case of acqua alta. The project is an integrated system consisting of rows of mobile gates installed at the Lido, Malamocco, and Chioggia inlets that are able to isolate the Venetian Lagoon temporarily from the Adriatic Sea during acqua alta high tides. Together with other measures, such as coastal reinforcement, the raising of quaysides, and the paving and improvement of the lagoon, MOSE is designed to protect Venice and the lagoon from tides of up to 3 metres (9.8 ft).
That is a fascinating project. I hope that together all those measures will work. If not, everyone will have to come to Nevada to see what Venice used to look like. Also I have a little photographic suggestion for you about this photo. IF you would like to hear it.
@caterina It is just this. I feel that your photo needs to be straightend out just a little. Unlike a mountain or a hill, the shore should never appear sloped, because its all at the same height, namely sea level. But in this picture, the shore, ocean, and the platform all appear to slope down and to the left. Perhaps that is why Venice is being flooded, if the water of the bay is running downhill towards it. Perhaps if you level out the water in this photo, they will not need to build the Mose or all the other measures. And the water can just stay where it is.
@caterina Yes. Yes. Thank heavens! But you should have been a tad more careful. Now, all the water is going East and Trieste is going under water. Oh, well. Maybe no one will miss it. Or Maybe they can relocate it to Nevada, as well.
No. I was only joking, as if it was a tub and changing the slope of it would make more water slosh over to the other side. But your photo looks just perfect. Like its photographer.
Don't know what you could be talking about. It is now 4:21 PM. As for anything else, I'm not responsible for what I do when I sleepwalk. I keep trying to tell the detectives and the Judge that. But they never agree with me.
