A Place to Rest

I have photographed this tree many times, in all manner of weather and seasons and today I was after fall colours but I guess I’m a little early, the leaves have only just started to turn. Maybe in a week.

I like the idea of a record of the seasons in regular photographs. The light on 'your tree' is this photo is beautiful, and the tree itself seems to be recording differential weather patterns with the leaves seeming to have turned earlier on the LHS.

A bit of nostalgia feeling for me, as this tree reminds me of a big tree, with those kind of feathery leaves, that grew near the river at my childhood summer cottage. I don’t have a picture of that one, and the house was sold long ago, so I will just have to adopt this one as a souvenir.
