South Arm Pioneer Church by cdcook48

South Arm Pioneer Church

Built in 1906 to serve the needs of a growing community it was built a mile away from the river as roads were starting to be constructed. It was replaced by a larger building in 1925 and has served as a thrift shop and meeting hall in the years since.
Nice that they could save the building and use it.

That sky certainly gives a moody feel to the image. Looking at this I suddenly noticed the curtains in the windows and realized that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a church with curtains. Of course, this isn’t being used as a church anymore.

A quaint country church. The dark clouds behind are very dramatic.
