It has been a tough few days for my wife and I. Sasha, our beloved Portuguese Water Dog, passed away on Thursday. She was over 13 and it was time, but that doesn't make it any easier. She was my constant companion on countless photo excursions and waited patiently while I got the the shot. (Well, not so patiently when she was a puppy, if I'm honest.) Many of the photos I have posted on 365 were taken with her at my side. I miss her terribly and just haven't felt like going out with my camera. I'll pick it up again soon, I know she'd want me to keep shooting. Until then I guess there will be a few blank spots on my calendar.
Oh how sad, I am sure she would want you to carry on taking photos. It is never easy when we lose our fur babies even though we know it is inevitable. I am sure she will be with you in spirit. Take care,
So sorry to hear you lost Sasha, your shooting companion. Love this photo of her and the backdrop bokeh is pretty, subtile and perfect. Hang in there, take your time and cherish the memories. Virtual hugs
So very sorry of the loss of your no doubt best friend , Our pets mean so much and the loss is no less than a loosing a family memory ! Such a wonderful portrait !
Chris, I am so sorry! Our dog of many years passed away at the beginning of this year. She, too, was my companion on many photo shoots...and often "photo-bombed"!
Praying for your peace!
That's awfully sad - I so understand, my dog comes with me always, the only one who's happy to indulge my hobby and constant companion. It is a very beautiful shot.
Thank you all for your kind words, I do appreciate them.
