Floral Dreams

This is a combination of two photos that by themselves were pretty boring so I combined them and Edited The Sorriness Out Of It for the latest etsooi challenge. First I made some basic changes in Lightroom then opened them in Photoshop as layers where I blended them using a layer mask. I then used a freehand vignette to put emphasis on the little statue. Still not satisfied I sent the resulting image into Nik Color Efex and added a glow filter and a soft focus filter to give it a dreamy look. Lastly I added a frame. And that is how I turned two sorry images into one sorry image. bob

OMG...thanks so much for the explanation. It's fascinating, especially as I do such minimal stuff with PS.

@granagringa Photoshop can be quite intimidating at first but there are many excellent tutorials on YouTube (PiXimperfect and Phlearn are two channels I would recommend) and over time, as you become more comfortable with the program, it allows you to do some pretty amazing things. But Lightroom, or equivalent, is really all you need. I'm a bit of a software junkie and love trying different programs, although with September SOOC just around the corner I'll have to leave all that behind.
