My grandson, Garrett Michael Braden.
You can see where he gave himself a bit of a haircut. You can see the flash off of his goggles. He's five and about to start Kindergarten - 3 hours away from me. I think this move is just sinking in for all of us. I know so many folks who have dealt with long distance family issues and survived. I will, too. But it is going to be rough. I might not have seen him every week but I always had the option. I could go to preschool events and programs and picnics. We could pick him up and go to a movie or a magic show. Now I'll have to figure out a long distance relationship with a five year old. I look at that face and I see my son, who
will be 41 in a few day. I have a herd of little boys in my life that have a piece of my heart - but only one that carries my DNA forward.
What a fabulous smile!!!! It is so wonderful today, Cathy, with skyping and email, etc. And it is ALWAYS SO EXCITING when you are counting the sleeps until you see each other.
He looks like he is having a blast! I dread thinking that my only son might end up living far away, but I want God's best for him, whatever and where that is!
