Today is Michael's 41st birthday. He is so happy here in one of the photos of the new house that he just bought in Indianapolis. I realize that he won't be all that far away from me but I couldn't help but think at dinner tonight that it is the last birthday that he will spend in the same city as his mother. Selfish on my part, but I am just so used to him being here. He is successful doing something that he really enjoys. He is the department head of architecture, electrical and industrial engineering for Jacobs, Int., in the Indy office. He designs pharmaceutical plants and Indy is home to Eli Lilly. It is a good fit for him.
Like all mothers, your child's birthday, even when he is a grown man, is time to reflect - on the day he was born (the three days of labor that I always remind him of), the things I did right, the things I did wrong, the man that he has become.
I'm so proud of him. He is a good husband, an incredible father, and grandfather (yes, he has two grandsons!). But before any of that - he was, and will forever remain, my son. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to your Michael. He sounds like a wonderful young man. It doesn't matter how old they get you still remember that day they placed them into your arms ; )
Happy Birthday to your wonderful son!! A very reflective time for you now, Cathy. First his moving away and then the birthday. Yes, one does remember exactly how it went the day that they were born. I recall it like it was yesterday. And all the years in between. Time flies by, doesn't it?
@anazad511@swguevin@vskolnik@yonnie@soboy5@janets@photos222@karenann@sugarmuser@pawar_ramesh@gerry@lwain@happypat Thank you all from Michael and from me for all the birthday wishes. It was such a bittersweet day yesterday. I am trying to catch up on my photos and thanks but I'm not sure it will be soon. I was at their house to help pack yesterday also......before I went back to go out to dinner. I am running out of time as they hope to close on this one before the 10th. So, crunch time.
@cdonohoue ..........I am agree with karenann and Gerry.......yes..... don't worry...be happy with your photography......you are a nice photographer now ......you have to complete this project after uploading 68%.....far behind......only 32%
Happy Birthday Michael! Your Mom's going to miss you and she'll remind you of those three days of labour by phone! Cathy, your words brought me to tears - my son also lives a few hours away from me and most of his birthdays are celebrated long-distance, but I feel the same way about him as you do about Michael.
