My last Easter Sunday in this sanctuary.
This morning was so very hard. The biggest celebration of the Christian tradition and for us it was a sad morning. But we will be celebrating Easter somewhere else next year - still together.
I love watching the paraments change from purple to white. You don't see these very often in the cycle. Easter, Christmas, Epiphany, weddings and funerals - I'm probably forgetting some.
Love all of those pretty flowers. This is such a lovely place. Can't wait to see what God has for you all in the next chapter. Hugs and Happy Easter, my friend!!!
Lovely shot, Cathy! I guess it's out with the old and in with the new. It's always sad to see a big part of our lives change. I'm sure you have many great memories here.
I have never seen a prettier altar Cathy ..you have done your beloved church proud ! Can't remember if you have told us why you have to move, sure you have but I can't remember the reason.
@happypat The church was built to house about 400. We are down to around 40 or so. The building is huge and old with all of the problems that go with that. No matter how hard we try we cannot support the property. I don't understand why so many folks don't go to church anymore.
@cdonohoue Neither can I Cathy, too busy shopping perhaps but it gives me a sense of belonging, a complete hope in the afterlife & a love for mankind.
I always think the US is a very religious country whereas the UK apparently will no longer be able to call itself a Christian country by 2020, this according to newspapers this weekend!!! A very sad state of affairs....just wait till things go terribly wrong & every one will be praying!!
(Do they change for Pentecost?)
