Tundra of the Rockies

Still filling in my project from the Rocky Mountain Trip. These little beauties are wildflowers growing on the tundra. Here we are at the top of the mountains and we come upon what would be nice meadows if on the bottom. I have no idea how they do it. In late June the place is incredibly cold with bitter winds. They ask that you do not go off the paths as these gems can take 100's of years to grow and we can wipe them out with a footstep. I was fascinated by them.
They are beautiful and this is a great shot of them.

Very pretty capture, Cathy. It is always fun to see those pops of color in the mountains.

Very pretty shot, very intersting plant. You would want to protect it.
